Yoga Niketan Ashram

Established in 1964 by the great Himalayan yogi Paramhansa Swami Yogeshwarananda Saraswati, Yoga Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh stands amidst the serene surroundings of the mountains. It serves as a peaceful haven where individuals from all walks of life embark on a journey towards self-discovery and personal growth.

Swami Yogeshwarananda Saraswati, known in his childhood as Vyas Dev Ji, stands as a prominent figure among the greatest yogis of the 20th century. At the age of fourteen, he set out on a journey, forsaking the comforts of a secure home to embrace the life of an ascetic. His unwavering dedication led him to the majestic Himalayas and Tibet, where he delved into the sacred teachings of Hindu scriptures, fervently practicing the ancient wisdom with the sole aim of self-realization. Having experienced Samadhi, he returned to Rishikesh and founded the Ashram. Swami Yogeshwarananda Saraswati authored dozens of books and nurtured numerous realized Masters. In the 1980s, he withdrew from public life into the Himalayas, achieving Maha Samadhi.

Meditation classes (5.15 – 6.15 am) and yoga (6.30 – 8.00 am) are held daily at the Ashram and you can attend them in addition to the retreat program. The cost is included in the tour price.
