What to Bring:
Clothing
Comfortable clothing, preferably made of natural fabrics, for long walks in the town and hikes in the mountains. The days can be quite warm (mid summer temperature, 80F+), but it cools down in the evening, so you might need a light jacket/warm sweater, a sun hat/cap.
Footwear
Shoes comfortable enough to wear all day (light sneakers/plimsolls, comfortable sandals with heel support). When visiting temples, you'll have to remove your shoes, so bring socks.
Sleep Essentials
Your own pillowcases (the ashram has its own, but based on experience many prefer to bring theirs from home), pajamas (it can get chilly at night), and flip-flops for the shower (the floor can be cold).
Personal Hygiene
The ashram doesn't provide toilet paper, toothpaste, shampoos, soaps, laundry detergent, or hairdryers. You can easily purchase them locally, yet feel free to bring those items from home.
Documents
Passport, medical insurance, E-visa. Money: bring some cash, no need to exchange rupees pryer coming to India. Best exchange rate is locally in Rishikesh. ATMs are also available in the town.
